Throughout Q4 2022, the top music and podcasts apps in Kenya showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Using data from Sensor Tower, we analyze the performance of these leading apps.

Deezer: Music Player, Podcast saw a steady revenue stream, peaking at $360 in the last week of September. Weekly downloads experienced a notable increase towards the end of November, reaching approximately 799. However, weekly active users showed a slight decline from 10.9K to 9.8K throughout the quarter.

TuneIn Radio: Music & Sports experienced varied revenue, with a peak of $318 in the week of October 24. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 1K in late September and dropping to 466 by year-end. Active users also declined from 2.5K to 1.8K over the quarter.

Boomplay: Music & Live Stream showed consistent weekly revenue, with peaks around $121. Downloads surged towards the end of December, reaching over 40K. Active users remained robust, increasing from 643K to 745K, indicating strong user engagement.

Audiomack - Play Music Offline had moderate revenue, peaking at $76 in mid-December. Downloads saw a significant increase, especially in early December, hitting 14K. Active users grew steadily, from 220K at the end of September to 228K by December 26.

JioSaavn – Music & Podcasts recorded a revenue peak of $132 in the last week of December. Weekly downloads, however, declined from 241 in late September to 117 by year-end. Active users showed a minor decrease, finishing the quarter at around 4.1K.
